Windows Mobile is an end-to-end mobile communication service developed by Microsoft for use on hand-held apparatus. It runs on the Windows CE operating system. The title “Mobile” came about as a result of the fact that the device would not be known as a “mobile phone” by consumers. On the contrary, it would be called a “Personal Digital Assistant” or “PDA.”

The most elementary version of Windows Mobile works with a typical cell phone or PDA with a small amount of memory. If the device has no external memory, so data transfers won’t be stored on the device itself, but on a remote server. Users can transfer photos, text, and other documents using a Windows Mobile handheld device via a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection. A user has the ability to navigate the Internet using a touch screen in their apparatus.

Even though the device is promoted as being a “cell phone” it is very different. The Windows Mobile handset serves as the central control centre which allows the user to do almost what a PC does. Rather than having to use a keyboard or the trackpad on a laptop, the user may use their fingers to control the device’s keys and navigation buttons.

So as to make the most of Windows Mobile, it should be used along with Windows Vista. The operating system and the hardware need to be compatible. Certain things like the file manager and calculator won’t function properly if the hardware doesn’t support the appropriate OS.

When the Windows Mobile device uses a normal computer keyboard, the text can be transmitted to the device by tapping on the screen. If you’re holding the device in your hands, then you can tap the screen to send the text. It is possible to input data into the device via software, although this may be very time-consuming. A lot of people find it easier to use Windows applications or Office on their apparatus.

The total speed of the unit is extremely impressive for an electronic device of this type. Users may work with their data like incoming and outgoing emails as well as have access to contacts and calendar. Information can be downloaded directly to the device, so users do not even need a PC to access the Internet.
